"control+" shortcuts have stopped working - never mind, bad keyboard

Never mind - it's just a bad keyboard. The control key doesn't work at all.

I'm using Windows XP on a dell PC - it's a couple years old now.

All of a sudden I can't use "control+c" for copy, or "control+v" for paste, and I've just noticed I can't seem to use other "control+" shortcuts either (control+backspace, etc.)
This is happening when I'm in Word (2003) as well as on the internet (Netscape 7.0).

Drag and drop enabled May 12, 2005

I had that once.

Have you enabled dragging and dropping?
Right-click on the Start menu
Select Properties
Start Menu tab
Customize button
Advanced tab
In the scroll menu, see that "Enable dragging and dropping" is checked.

thanks for that advice - in my case it turned out to be a bad keyboard, but your idea may help someone else.

really makes me appreciate that control key!
