Hello,
could any one please tell me whether there\'s an easy way to make a word count in a PDF file.

Copy to clipboard and open a new word document and paste the content of the clipboard then count with Word counter.
But be carefull, some parts of PDF are like pictures so they won\'t appear on the word document..

Nadia,
You must have Adobe Acrobat program (NOT reader) or third party PDF conevrter program.
Open the file, save it in RTF format, then open the RTF file with Word. Count the word from word-count feature within Word. Done!

You may extract text staff from PDF into .rtf fornat and then use \"standard\" MS WOrd statistics.

Thank you very much for your help.
The pdf file I\'m dealing with was first scanned from a book, so I can\'t even select it.It\'s protected you know.
Could you pls explain this more to me:
Should I go to \"file\" then choose \"copy file to clipboard\", then what?
When I open the clipboard viewer, I find an image of an Acrobat document!
I won\'t rest till I find a way

if you use the full version of Adobe Acrobat, you can save all text in a text or rtf file.

If you have to count pdf-files regularly go to practiline.com and have that product checked with Adobe 5.05. (the update of the latter [5.0 to 5.05] is for free).

Copy the javascript file into your folder c:\\program files\\Acrobat 5.0\\JavaScript
Launch Acrobat Reader 5.1 (!!! 5.0 is not supported).
Open the Tools menu of Acrobat Reader. It now contains a word count option.

Import your PDF file to OCR software(in Finereader 6 - file> open image), and recognise it usual way. It can be done also with password protected pdf files, which any other way can\'t be copied, resaved, printed or whatever, only viewed on screen.
