Hallo,

kennt jemand ein Programm oder Trick wie man schnell und effizient Wörter in Tif-Dateien zählen kann.

With apologies for replying in English:

A TIF(F) file is a bit-mapped graphics file, which means that any words in it consist of only collections of pixels, and thus cannot be distinguished as words by any program less intelligent than a person (and all programs are less intelligent than a person).

It might be possible to scan in a TIFF image and then use an OCR (optical character recognition) program to 'fish out' the words so they could be counted, but although I've ... See more

It might be possible to scan in a TIFF image and then use an OCR (optical character recognition) program to 'fish out' the words so they could be counted, but although I've never tried it, I question whether it would be worth the effort or give a reliable result (would depend on what kind of an image you have).

I'm afraid that the best I can suggest is to take a pencil and paper, display the image on the screen and count the words the hard way.

Ich konvertiere immer meine Faxe in *.Tiff und lasse sie dann durch die OCR-Mühle laufen. Wenn die Vorlage nicht schlecht ist, können die Ergebnisse hervorragend sein.

Es geht ja nur darum, die Wörter zu zählen, wenn ich die Aufgabenstellung richtig verstehe. Ob mit oder ohne Töppfehler, die Leerstellen werden meist ganz gut erkannt

Nicht scannen, sondern OCR-Software nutzen Aug 30, 2003

Vielen Dank für den Hinweis. Bei der Antwort habe ich ziemlich geschlafen. Also ich werde natürlich die OCR-Software einsetzen, um aus den mir vorliegenden Tif-Dateien zu verarbeitende Text-Dateien zu erstellen.
