In case it is, I wonder if someone could let me know what this cartoon says?

This is not job-related. I am collecting translation cartoons for a presentation at my son\'s school (career day), and found this one on the web.

Just for your information: It is a German dialect common around Frankfurt/Main.

My interpretation... May 18, 2002

Top Left: Käpt\'n! Ich kapiere nicht, wie der unglaubwürdige Übersetzer funktioniert.

Second left: Ja genau! Wie kann er denn Sprache übersetzen, die wir gar nicht kennen?

Middle right: Und warum bewegen sich die Lippen in Englisch?

Top right: Die Glaubwürdigkeitsfilter sind raus!

Translation May 18, 2002

Hi Dyran,

I try to translate it for you quickly, but afterwards, I must return to the kitchen:

1. Captain: I don\'t understand how this unreliable Translators functions.

2.Yes, exactly. How can he translate languages we do not have a clue about.

3.And why do your lips make English movements?

4.The credibility (possibility) fields are missing.

Well, I am sort of guessing. It\'s pretty difficult to understand that dialect.

Maybe someone else can do better.

Greetings

Maya

1. Captain, I don\'t understand how the implausible translator could possibly work.

2. Yeah! How can it translate languages we\'ve never encountered before?

3. And why do their lips move in English?

4. The credibility filters are off-line.
