Hi!
I'd really like to get my hands on some software, which allows me to build and maintain a client database / list, generate and follow up on invoices, create budgets, etc. Preferably, I'd also like to link it to my bank account.
Any recommendations?

If you are working on your own, try Translation Office 3000. This software is specially designed for freelancers. I've used this program for over an year now, and I just love it. It's very user-friendly and lets me keep track of all my clients, prices, (invoiced and not invoiced) projects , (paid and unpaid) invoices and payments from clients.

Another vote for TO3000. I doesn't just help with the administrative tasks, it's a whole treasure chest for translators. My favorite thing is that you can manage all projects from the same window: find the projects you're working on, the jobs you've already delivered, you can just drag a file from the client's FTP directly to the project's folder, add a payment, etc. It's awesome!
