Hello,

After several years of doing occasional translations alongside other work, I’m now starting out full-time as a freelancer. Are there are any experienced Dutch-to-English translators (preferably 5+ years full-time) out there who would be willing to mentor me for a month or two (or more if it seems appropriate)?

I am particularly interested in taking on some work for someone more experienced in exchange for feedback and possible references later, though general advice on tools of the trade, how to market yourself and approach new clients, pricing etc. would all be very welcome too. I’m flexible about the form this could take and open to suggestions.

If anyone feels they are in a position to help, or would like to discuss the possibility, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks.

Anna

Hi Anna

In case you weren't aware, there is a specific section of the site for offering or requesting mentoring: http://www.proz.com/?sp=exchange&exchange_area=mentoring

The process is also described in the FAQs: http://www.proz.com/faq/4376#4376

Good luck.

Russell
