Hello,
finally I decided to try and search for some job as a translator...

I know it won't be easy and I know there are dozens of other translators out there who have more experience and qualifications than I do, but hey... I had to get started sooner or later!

And the time has come as I'm left without work for the whole summer...

I've just uploaded my CV and cover letter and would like to receive your opinion on it.

It can be found on my profile page:
http://www.proz.com/profile_resources/076355_r42bd279260118.pdf

I know it is still very poor, but I have tried to put in there some information that I hope can be useful for me to get a job.

How would you improve on it? What advice can you give me?

And... is it poorly written? any mistakes?

Thanks for your help,
.a.

Hi Alessandro: you can download my presentation "How Not To Get Hired" from our web site (http://www.aliquantum.biz/downloads.htm ).

I gave this presentation at the ATA Conference in Orlando, and I think you may find some of these tips useful.

It's completely garbled! Jun 24, 2005

It's completely garbled (at least on my computer: MS Windows 95, MS Word 97). One more reason why it's a good idea to have a PDF version of one's CV available.

Yeah, I know. I've used OOo on Linux to write this first version and I decided to put it online as a .doc file so that other colleagues could edit it (which in fact happened).

The final version will definitely be a pdf file (even though I would have much preferred an html file...).

Ale.

EDIT: here goes the pdf version:
