Have you tried Getty? Sep 23, 2005

http://creative.gettyimages.com/source/home/home.aspx

I believe that you have to purchase most of the images in order to use them but they have an amazing collection. Sometimes I browse just for fun.

Good luck!

Sara

Thanxs for the prompt reply. I am still looking to find somewhere else, given that they charge between 60-200 EUR for one image!

Please let me know, if you come across something else:)))

Google images Sep 23, 2005

Dear Italia,

I too needed images of headphones for an interpreting report and found Google images quite helpful. On the search page, click images, and then continue your search.

Of course, but then you have to ask permission of the image's copyright holder if you want to use it. You can't use an image simply because it pops up in a Google search.

Alternatively, why not have someone take a picture of yourself? Then you can add "Yes, it's really me" as a caption to distinguish yourself from all those horrid sites with stock photos of people who supposedly works for the company.

I have borrowed images... Sep 23, 2005

...from a manufacturer's website by right clicking on the image and selecting "save image". So if e.g. Sennheiser is your favourite, why not borrow one of theirs? I don't consider this unethical as images are there for advertising purposes and you are doing the company a favour. Whether it is lawful or not is another question and probably depends on the source; some might permit free use of images provided a credit is given for instance.
Anyhow, just another idea
Good luck with your search :^)
DB

+++ Sennheiser is a bad example as they explicitly forbid use of images, but the idea remains...

Why don't you take your own photos? Sep 23, 2005

Digital cameras are almost cheaper than bread and you avoid any copyright issues.

Here's a link to another stock photography provider. The images are not for free, but you'll find almost anything under the sun here:
