Any advice on searching clients in my language pairs?

Among other pairs I work in Ja-Ru/Uk.
I understand that searching for Japanese-Ukrainian jobs is almost a dead-end, but I am also having difficulties in having enough Ja-Ru jobs.
The situation is the following - I hardly cope with translation volume from European languages, but Japanese was the language which I just loved to learn and use, and now I find that working freelance doesn't allow me to work with it.

The funny thing is that Japanese companies I sometimes work for offer me EN-RU/UK translations as well.
Looking for direct clients doing business with Russia also doesn't bring too much results...

On the other hand I am not in the position to do volunteer or "low rate" translations - simply won't have time.

Does anyone has any advicesб web-links or even contacts which could be useful in my situation? Finally you may work in another language pair for a client/company potentially interested in my pairs too.

Have you tried registering your information in the database of translation agencies specializing in the Russian/Ukrainian - Japanese pair? There are actually a number of agencies in that category. If you google 'ロシア語　翻訳' or '日露　翻訳,' you will probably find some of them that that may meet your criteria.

Based on the current close economic or cultural relationship between Russia and Japan, there is a decent demand that will be likely to increase even more in the future. In fact, some of the major Japanese corporations like Toyota and Nissan are planning to build assembly plants in Moscow or St Petersburg.

It may also be a good idea to contact any types of Russo-Japanese organizations. These types of organizations are occasionally looking for a translator. Below are the list of some of the organizations based in Japan.

Thank you for the links.
As for googling/registering in all possible forums/directories/specialized sites, sending CVs - I regulary do this. I even successfully look for clients for another freelancer...
The strange thing is that the same activities bring a lot of contacts in all other langauage pairs and produce almost nothing in this one.

I guess you already know of the following sites. I registred at both of them half a year ago, and at least I have received a couple of job offers (Japanese to Swedish) from the first one.
