Does not meet criteria Thread poster: Sylvain Leray

Hi, When I see this, for example : http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1344943 I tend to think that the implemented system of criteria is not so perfect. I get a message saying that I meet the criteria and that I can submit an answer... and then, it appears in red that I don't meet the criteria because I "specialize" and not just "work" in the field... well, sorry for that... So, what to do ? Sylvain ▲ Collapse

I checked the question, I got the message: "your profile shows you work in this pair."

yes, I'm told I 'work in this pair' even though I most certainly don't.

Well, I read in a question yesterday that I had declared myself to be a native speaker of ..... Italian. I have? Well that's news to me!

I opened a ticket for this same problem six weeks ago: http://www.proz.com/ticket/25008 and nothing was done about it. The ticket is still 'open'. MediaMatrix

Your support ticket was answered quickly (you said, "I consider a response in less than 24 hours to a ticket posted on a Sunday as excellent!") and as you were told, the matter was referred to a developer. We added the bug to our current monthly release. What is now being seen, unfortunately, looks like bad implementation. Sorry for the trouble! I'll look into it and get the problem corrected.

It's not so alarming and should not refrain one from answering if one thinks he/she is right
justin C United States Local time: 09:05 English This bug should be fixed | May 8, 2006 |
Hello all, I looked into the problem, and it seems users who specialized in a field were not getting credit for 'at least working' in the question field. I have fixed this problem, and the 'Meets criteria' text next to the answerer's name should now be displaying properly. Please let me know if you notice any more problems related to this issue. Thanks, Justin

The fact that I received an 'answer' within 24 hours in no way implies that Proz developers did anything to resolve the problem, even if they did find it on their 'to do' list. The fact remains that today - 6 weeks later - the problem has been raised again. MediaMatrix
