or perhaps as an option under 'general fields'??
One sometimes sees questions that have nothing to do with a given field, but are asked because Asker is having trouble with the basics of the source language.
If someone doesn't understand a verb tense or a pronoun, it's pointless to list the question as legal, financial, technical etc. That is why I am suggesting adding a category 'general language/grammar'. Such questions aren't about 'terms', but are about basic language (use).

True, many times the question is really about syntax, grammar or idioms and it is either classified as the field of the text, or as "linguistics", "general" or something else.

It would make sense to add a category such as "general language" when the question is not really regarding a term or a specific field.

This would have the advantage that people answering would not skip the question because it is marked as pertaining to a field they do not work on (legal, math, medicine...), in addition to helping keep the glossary in some sort of order.

I wonder what someone from Kudoz would have to say about this?
