International Day of Translators
30 September 2003
The Patron of the Translators all over the world is Saint Jerome; the most learned of Latin Fathers. He is known particularly for his translation of the Bible into Latin “The Vulgate”. The International Federation of Translators celebrates the International Day of Translators on St. Jerome’s feast day on September 30. St. Jerome settled in Bethlehem in 386 A.D and established a monastery in 389 and died in Bethlehem in 420. We celebrate the International Day of Translators in the city were the Patron of Translators lived and translated the Bible. The Palestinian Translators’ Society and the Arabic Department at Bethlehem University have the pleasure to invite all interested to a debate and video presentation On this occasion On Tuesday September 30, 2003 at 11 A.M. In Brother Joe Hall.

A priest who lives in Palestine came to my town Oct 1, 2003

here in Italy and said that there are quite a few peace initiatives, but the BBC and other TV stations say it's not interesting for them if no blood is shed.

I'm glad this is one more peace initiative!
