list of current programme suggestions Jun 12, 2006

We've started to compile a preliminary programme. Please visit the conference page.

We'd still like to hear which sessions you'd like to see included in the conference programme. Please post your suggestions in this forum.

Shall the conference last two days or two weeks? Jun 12, 2006

Looking at your programme suggestions I must admit, that even two weeks might be not enough for the themes here.

Regards
Jerzy

I guess we'd all get to know each other pretty well in two weeks

But believe it or not, I've manage to fit quite a lot of the ideas into our first draft programme already. Be prepared to need a holiday after this conference - I therfore suggest all delegates seriously think about combining their conference attendance with a holiday in Scotland

Regards,

Rebekka

Forum suggestion Jun 29, 2006

I would be very interested in a forum on legal translation (particularly French to English).

Thanks

Paula

Thanks for writing Paula! Jun 29, 2006

We have already identified a legal translation specialist, Astrid Elke Johnson, who kindly agreed to chair a 1.5 focus group on "What rights does a translation agency have to demand delivery of the TM upon completion of a translation project?" I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities for more informal discussions about legal translation during the conference. Are there any other topics which you would like to see convered?

Enjoy the evening
Katharina

Legal questions [suggestion for programme] Jul 7, 2006

I would like to know what kind of legal trouble I could get into, if I for instance translate milligram to microgram in a medical document. What kind of insurance can I get to cover me in such cases? Especially if I translate directly for an end-customer and not via an agency.

Trados workshop Jul 8, 2006

I see that there will be a 3-hour SDLX Training. But what happened to Trados? Is that the 3-hour Training without a subject on Saturday?

Voice recognition software Aug 16, 2006

Hi,

I know the programme is pretty full by now, but it would be great if you could fit in a session on voice recognition software.
