MET workshops are mainly aimed at translators and editors of non-native writing in English, and particularly focus on academic texts.

>> Non-directive listening (NDL) for English language facilitators

>> Practical tools for improving text flow: focus on punctuation

>> Practical tools for improving text flow: focus on information ordering / theme-rheme

>> Righting citing: principles and strategies for editors and translators

>> Managing plagiarism: an approach to dialog between authors and editors

>> First steps for translating and editing research articles-how to adopt a genre analysis approach

>> Corpus-driven translation and editing of specialist texts

We also have a 'social' workshop followed by an optional supper:

>>The translator’s view of al-Andalus: The social politics of translation and communication in the Mediterranean Middle Ages.

Bad timing Feb 2, 2007

What a shame that the March 23 and 24 events conflict with the biennial AIETI Translation & Interpretation Studies conference in the same city. It would be nice if the various organizations would talk to one another when doing their planning.

No clash Feb 2, 2007

Steven, I think you have misread the dates. The workshops on the 23rd and 24th are in February. The workshop dates are 23rd and 24th of February, 9th and 10th of March, 13th and 14th of April, and 11th and 12th of May.

Best wishes
