Dear colleagues,

Although a powwow page was set up about this event a couple of months now, I think it's a good idea to post this in the forums as well.

The "Sziget" ("Island") festival is a truly great event, which has been around since 1993. This week-long music festival takes place on an island of the Danube about 6 kms from the city center.

In addition to the few large stages, there are dozens of smaller venues around the island, all mixed with a genuine "sziget" feeling. The festival is becoming more and more international every year, so now it's your chance to make it even more international.

Some artists in this year's line-up:

Césaria Evora, LGT, Varttina, Muzsikas, Chemical Brothers, Pink, Sinead O'Connor, Sud Sound System, Chris Cornell, Manu Dibango, Skatalites, Tool, Sharam, Manu Chao, Madness, Fanfaria Ciocarlia, Gogol Bordello, The Hives, Ska Cubano, Rachid Taha, Fun-Da-Mental, Napalm Death, Jaipur Maharaja Brass Band, Esma Redzepova, and so many more...

Festival programme, tickets, accommodation tips, etc:
