Tis is from an actual job offer I received today:

"Need translation of a 9 page document. Document reads as having 10 pages but there are only 9 that have anything on them."

Good one, isn't it?

I see nothing out of the ordinary from what you have described. Clients often do not give you enough information. This comes with the territory. You should get in touch with them and ask for more information.
