I vividly recall my shock Nov 15, 2005

when some years ago I saw in a tube station and advert for "the first mobile phone specially designed for women" and one of the features highlighted was a "vibrator". I was in Paris and for a while I thought I had to be getting my French all wrong.

Is concrete used as an adjective or an apposition? Nov 15, 2005

CONCRETE:
(...) 2. Existing in reality or in real experience; perceptible by the senses; real. (Bartleby.com)

I really wonder what the product dept had really in mind when they came up with the denomination...

Happiness is a shop in the South of France... Nov 15, 2005

I was tickled pink when I came across a large frontage brazenly advertising its sales of 'Industrial Vibrators' --- nearly had an accident driving by as I did a double-take!
