I've just been sent this menu for proof reading.
The client asked: 'Please send it back ready for printing, not covered in red and comments in brackets.'
They've already added their own...

It is in fact for the restaurant's New Year special.
The Danes do have a tradition for practical jokes at New Year, but these are as tough as they get.

The sad thing is, translations like this one are extremely
contagious ... You can catch a V-I-T syndrome - VERY IRRITATED Translator from them.

In Bulgaria we have this specially processed meat, called "Banski starets", which translated literally means "old man from Bansko". What a surprise it was to find a translation in a menu, saying "Grilled old man from Bansko". I hope that foreign visitors to my country do not think we are cannibals.

In Denmark schoolchildren have a joke that translates more or less:
"Our baker has lemon tarts, apple turnovers and rasperry slices, and they're all fine. But what on earth do they put in the Lord Mayor cake?"
(A Borgmestertaerte is a sickly sweet tart with lots of marzipan and raspberry jam.)
Another menu I had some time ago included a dessert served with 'couilles' .... They meant coulis.
You could translate it as nuts, I suppose
And nobody bats an eyelid at melon balls
