This isn\'t the lighter side of translating/interpreting. Simply the lighter side!

I just got this from my father, who says this humorous item is from the Harvard Medical Review:

EVOLUTION OF MEDICINE

2000 B.C. -- eat this root

1000 A.D. -- eating roots is primitive; say this prayer

1500 A.D. -- this prayer is superstitious; drink this potion

1960 A.D. -- this potion is dangerous; take this antibiotic

2000 A.D. -- this antibiotic is ineffective; eat this root
