If such an award doesn\'t exist, it ought to. The slogan could be \"International Marketing at it\'s Best\" (apostrophe deliberate). If your language is French, German, Spanish or Italian, don\'t miss this site which has already been enjoyed at various other translator sites.

Perhaps the \"waiters\" (as servers came out in Spanish) go swimming in the many \"piscinas\" on their breaks. (\"500 strong pool of technical professionals\" was translated into Spanish as \"500 swimming pools, strong of technical professionals\").

Here we go, Rachel... Feb 13, 2003

It was just hidden behind the hyperlinked \"this site\" bit in the first message.

The \"translation\" effort looks familiar - we\'ve \"discussed\" it just the other day in the German forum.

Real goodies, amongst many others:

\"Sehr gesicherten Diener für Daten\"

\"Wanderung von Existieren Daten\"

Steffen

P.S. The proposed award should be renamed to \"Babblefish Award\", FWIW.

...And I can only assume that when they wrote the colorful sentence: Feb 14, 2003

[Mezclar tradicional “Ladrillo y Mortero” el enfoque con “el chasquido y el mortero” el modelo]

...they meant:

To blend the traditional \"brick and mortar\" approach with the \"click and mortar\" model.

Do you think anyone was paid, beyond a technician who zipped it through a machine translation program? These \"translations\" smell computer-generated.

Nevertheless, at the German forum, there is an account from a ProZer who wrote the company a polite note, and they wrote back excusing themselves, saying that they knew the German version might have some problems, but, you see, it was translated by an Austrian It makes you wonder what the excuses would be for the Spanish, Italian and French versions.

And, pray, was he an illiterate Austrian? Feb 15, 2003

And you thought you had heard it all! My jaw hit the floor when I read this Austrian excuse. It is so outrageous, it is not even funny (especially not for Austrians I guess).
