Language can be read from the point of culture, the wisdom of nation is stored here. What appears in your mind when you hear the word "self-expression"? Different people of different nations express themselves in different way.

Looking for stereotypes? Apr 9, 2008

Different people of different nations express themselves in different way.

Different people of the same nation express themselves in different ways.
People of the same nation but of different backgrounds (social, educational ,etc.) express themselves in different ways.
Etc, etc...
We can continue this game, but I think in general:
People of different XXX express themselves in different ways.
People of the same XXX express themselves in different ways.

(XXX can be replaced by nation, ethnicity, education, temper, mood, psychological state of mind, skills, whatever.)

Aside from the need to group people at the risk of stereotyping, I fail to see the point of the question...

gestures Apr 10, 2008

Something which I have noticed lately in my seminar is that people gesture a lot with their hands when they talk. It's actually kinda comical to watch, as I am beginning to be able to pair up certain individuals with their "style" of gesturing when they speak. Not sure if this is helpful to you...just a thought.
