Differences between Fr-CANADA and FR- France Mar 22, 2006

Salut Guylaine Ingram: Je vais continuer mon message en anglais simplement pour m'assurer la majoritee des lecteurs peuvent lire mon message.

THE Differences between Fr-CANADA and FR- France is about 3500 km.

I am from Montreal. I never consider myself a frenchman. In my profession " Micro-organic chemistry". many of my french collegues have no problems understanding me. However, they do have so problem with my frech-canadien accent. I hear al the time about the french canadien do not speack the so called "real-french".

So Gylain, I will be very foward with you. I speak french, and I am Quebecois. I can't not talk for the fench-canadien majority, but many of us have not alot in common with the french people. Mybe accept for Francis Cabrel or J.J. Goldman. I am not supprise that oyu have a hard time to translate text from Quebec. Simply because you are not Canadien. Just like my wife, she is from Rio and can't not get the the main idea of a text from Portugual.

Today, Gylaine I no longer live in my native " Belle Province". I sure miss my "Poutine". I currently live a few blocks from you. I am in Montrouge. Yes, I have been here for 8 years. I have adapted to the "Parisien" accent. But, many Parisien seem to "snob" my french-canadien accent. In short , fr-canada & fr-france have absolutly nothing in common. We simply share a language called "FRANCAIS".
