This is the haiku thread, which will remain open for submissions until September 4 (perhaps the Labour Day Weekend will provide inspiration for some);-).
After this time, the judges will announce the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The prize is accomplishment, a glowing happiness and the admiration of your peers.
Have fun!
Nancy

How about a KudoZ theme? Aug 14, 2003

On the occasion of the 500,000th KudoZ question being asked, I suggest those without a theme consider KudoZ as a topic. KudoZku.

A flicker of fingers,
a flurry of clicks...
Enlightenment comes in a word.

Bravo! Not sure strictly the judges will adhere to the 5-7-5 rule...

Sky is the limit
When asking KudoZ questions.
Don't be shy, just ASK.

Context is crucial.
Don't forget to add details.
We'll help you better.

The best thing of it
is to receive instant clues,
and tip you the wink.

The worst thing of it,
Is having to choose the best
Answer and grade it.

I dare you to try
Any language, any theme;
For you'll have answers.

Oh yep, while we're at it now,
Slang material can
Be treated damn well...

Heat Aug 16, 2003

Icy hot.
Iron hot.
Hot and sticky and wet and tricky.
But I do not recall the heat.

tickets for Broadway
dinner reservations made
blackness … no more date

I'm sure lots of people in NY had their romantic dates cancelled on Thursday...Who knows what they did instead?

So cute... Aug 17, 2003

Old days ,
Just memories
New days to come
Dream and lotteries
How many a midnight
Just wondering
Kudoz

a whole day's technical translation,
now take a breath
oh, raining outside
