Dear colleagues,

I was wondering if someone could help me out with a quote from the Bible I need to translate - which part is it taken from, so I can use the official translation of it.

Here is the quote in question:
"Deliver me from the workers of inequity and save me from bloody men."

Thanks!

Stella

The book of Psalms May 16, 2007

I found this link:

http://www.theworkofgod.org/Bible/OldTestm/Psalms.htm

Psalm 58

1 Unto the end, destroy not, for David for an inscription of It title, when Saul sent and watched his house to kill him.

2 Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; and defend me from them that rise up against me.

****3 Deliver me from them that work iniquity, and save me from bloody men. ****

I hope this helps you.

Regards,

Alfonso

The Bible in different languages May 18, 2007

A while ago I had to proofread a translated book that contained several quotations from the Bible. Of course, the author copied them from some edition of the Bible in the source language. But what would be the use of creating yet another translation - in this case a partial one - of the Bible?

So I found this:

Various editions, covering a total of 31 languages.
