I'm reposting here LISA's notification about their current survey - they are gathering data about end-users experiences with localized products and are trying to reach as many end-users world-wide as possible.

As per LISA's message, take a few minutes to fll in the survey yourselves, and feel free to pass it on to any end-users you may know!

Cheers,
Roberta

Dear Localization Professionals,

The Localization Industry Standards Association (LISA) has launched its 2005 Global Software Survey to investigate end-user experiences with localized software. Through the generous support of LISA member companies, LISA has released this survey in 15 languages, including languages spoken in growing markets such as Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South-East Asia. By focusing on multiple languages and markets, the survey is primed to reach the real end users of localized products, users who would be missed by English-only surveys.

The survey can be accessed through March 15 at: http://www.lisa.org/interact/2005/globalSoftware/

We encourage you to complete the survey yourself, and to forward this URL to associates, partners and mailing lists around the world, especially to those individuals who do not speak English.

This survey follows up on the 2003 LISA/OASIS Global eBusiness Survey (available from the LISA site at http://www.lisa.org) to provide hard data about the development, deployment and use of localized software around the world.

The survey focuses on:

the impact of localized or translated software in today’s global businesses

the influence of corporate and governmental language policies on software purchasing decisions the quality of localized software from a user perspective

the business impact of localized software on companies around the world.

By focusing on both a business perspective and on technical aspects of global software, this survey provides concrete data to link companies’ technical, customer support and business needs.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete, and all individuals who complete it are automatically entered into a drawing for one of five free attendances at any single LISA conference, summit or professional skills workshop.

Again, we encourage you to forward this message to others and to take the survey yourself.

Thank you,

Michael Anobile
