I am in the process of evaluating different localization tools, aim is to move away of the extract text in rtf, get it translated then spend hours reimporting it, reformatting it and fixing length issues.

My projects involves localizing source files like *.rc, *.rh, *.xslt files but also Windows html help file in *.chm format and some documents in framemaker .fm format.

So far I have been testing Passolo and Catalyst in tandem with Trados, are there other localization tools that would be worth evalutating?

With have a consquent TM so it's important that the tool can work in conjunction with Trados.

Ideally I would like to be able to prepare all my files in the tool and then send the package to the translators who will be able to translate the text in a wysiwyg interface, while using the existing TM.

RC WinTrans Jun 9, 2007

Hi Fabrice,
I have been working with RC WinTrans which seems to be a very intuitive localization tool with excellent support for Trados.
Give it a try...
