Hello, I have to quote a translation with InDesign. Could you tell me about the rates? Is a work on per-hour or per-word basis? I thank you much for your help Silvia Gentili

You should rate...

Per word AND per page.
That is, your translation rate, PLUS a rate per page (usually 20 to 30 USD each). If these are too many pages, you may give a discount (per page, not per word).

IHMO, I disagree. The page rate is moot, since a page area can be anything from a business card or a tiny sticker, to a broadsheet newspaper. If you're working in TagEditor, you won't even notice the difference. It's all just text at the end of the day! if you find that it's slow going due to internal tags, adjust your word rate upwards instead!

Good morning everybody,
I see that there are different opinions regarding whether to charge per page, hour or word. I think I am going to check the file thoroughly to see what the best option is in this case.
I thank you very much for your prompt answer; you were of much help to me
