I agree that this is quite interesting information. I had taken the liberty of converting the prices into U.S. dollars for my own benefit [www.xe.com] so I will share it here.

As of 11/29/2009:

1) What minimal price per word (converted from euros to dollars) would you accept before rejecting a project?

Average: 0.105 USD
Range: 0.015 0.258 USD
Total Responses: 175

2) Over which price per word (converted from euros to dollars) do you believe that an agency would not provide the job to you?

Average: 0.18 USD
Range: 0.105 0.30 USD

If we are truly in a global market, these numbers should hold true for U.S. agencies. The question, as always, is how much location and language pair really matter.

Thanks a lot for sharing the conversion to US-dollars. The goal of the survey was to define a price range were to move between, but I rejected to specify it more, since there exist hundreds of variants and factors of influence. This would have reduced his efficacy and only a few persons would have answered all the questions.
