Does anybody know what is the current rate for freelance translation for EU institutions(Court, Commissions, etc.) per 1500 characters excl. spaces?
Thank you in advance.

In my experience, there is no "current rate". In the context of various public procurement exercises, service providers (translators) offer to provide their services at various different rates.
I remember seeing a public document which indicated that the rates paid by the Community institution concerned (I think it was the Commission) ranged (roughly) from EUR 20 to EUR 60 per page of 1500 chars depending on the language combination involved.

However, with the price range being from 7 to 63 eur per page, this information is not very useful.

Court of Justice

Hello,
It is very common that the European Court of Justice would pays EUR 40 per 1500 char. Other institutions, such as the European Parliament, do not deal with individual freelance translators but with translation companies, which will pay their freelancers MUCH less (EUR 15-20) even if technically they still translate for the EU institutions.
