How does Paypal work?

Hi! I just got my first translation from a client in USA- I live in Mexico- Can you please tell me how Pay Pal works , and if it's convenient to open an account? because I have read in this forum that some persons have had problems withdrawing their money? Is Pay Pal the best way of getting paid or is there other methods?

Yes, there are several other alternatives.

Below is a list of the web sites related to services which are an alternative to Paypal.

It would take me a while to explain hoe each of them works - you can read the explanations on the web yourself, sorry

I have personal experience with MoneyBookers, WesternUnion, and MoneyGram, and can only say goods things about them.

If you have a Banamex account and the client has a Citibank account, they may be able to do a direct global transfer, which only costs $5 USD. I saw something about this recently on a translator mailing list but I can't find the information now. See ... See more
