I have been offered to work part time 4/5 hours to provide translation, proofreading and project management services. It is not an in-house position is only remote but they want me to establish a montly salary for said services. Any idea of salary range or remuneration package for this kind of position?

Get the work quantity fixed Oct 10, 2004

Just see how much you are capable of handling in 4/5 hours of working. That multiplied by your word rate will be your daily rate. Multiply this by the number of days you might work in a month taking into account whether you have to work all the days of the week or you can take Saturday and Sunday off. That will be your monthly salary. Put up the matter to the agency in the following terms. "I will take a monthly salary of xxx dollars and this will entitle you to have free work for yyy words in a month. For monthly turnover exceeding yyy words, you will have to pay me at a rate of zz dollars per word."

This is like the telephone bill where the payment is demanded on the basis of monthly rental plus call charges for calls exceeding the free calls in a month.
