Hourly rate Nov 2, 2004

The usual practice is to apply hourly rates.

How many pages do you think you can handle within 1 hour?
It would naturally depend on the document styles: Does the document contain complex styles, numerous sections each with different headers and footers, bullets, text boxes, frames, figures, tables, etc? If yes, then it would take more time to format than a regular text flow.

Taking all such time-relevantissues into account, you can roughly estimate your average hourly output. After estimating that it would take X hours to complete, you can easily calculate a "flat" rate = X hours x your hourly rate.
