Moneybookers says that I can send money to anyone with an existing e-mail address even if they don't have a Moneybookers account.
Where is that person suppose to recieve it?
And another question; can I transfer money between my MB and PP accounts?
Thanks in advance!

you sound to be rich Feb 21, 2005

Hi! normally it should be the other way around. Because moneybookers charges the payer 5% and the receiver doesn´t have to pay any transaction fee, and paypal charges around 10% to the receiving person and the payer doesn´t have to pay. So if you are transferring from your moneybookers account to your paypal account, it may cost you around 16% so far as I understand.
Regards, Brandis

Thanks for sharing this Feb 21, 2005

I had no idea, but then again, I am quite new to both systems.
The problem is that most of my "assets" are in Moneybookers because of PayPal's bad publicity, but sadly enough, I cannot use it to pay products acquired at ProZ.
Hope you don't mind if I contact you in private if I have any more questions. Thank you!

The person will have to create a MB account, I guess.

I don't think it's possible.

Proz Payments Feb 22, 2005

I have an actual bank account where I recieve money from my Moneybooker's account, but the problem is that the other day, while purchasing the Wordfast License through Proz, the only payment option (apart from credit card, wire, etc) was Paypal (in € or USD, if I'm not wrong). So, instead of paying it with Moneybookers I had to use a credit card. It's no major trouble, I just don't like having debts...Have a nice afternoon ..

Don't you have money in your credit card account? Feb 22, 2005

Is it common practice abroad not to have any funds in your credit card account when you make credit card purchases? Where I'm from, the interested received is highest in a credit card account, so there's no reason why one can't keep spare cash in the credit card account. Also, one can transfer money from one's ordinary bank accounts directly into the credit card account via internet banking (even if the credit card is with another bank). Is this not the norm elsewhere?

Finances clearly aren't my strongest point.. Feb 22, 2005

...but as far as I know and according to some people around here, you transfer the money to your credit card or it's taken automatically from you bank account AFTER making the purchase.

Sending with Moneybookers is 1% to a max. € 0.50 Jul 29, 2009

These percentages have changed completely - I did not realize that this post was dated 2005.

Quoted from the Moneybookers FAQ section:

What does it cost to send money?
1% (up to € 0.50) per Transfer

PayPal is 3.9% on the receiving side.

Jo

Onestoptransfer doesn't offer paypal anymore. Try this: http://absolutechange.net/ It worked for me.
