6 years later, I have the same question - but for an in-house editor/checker/proofer.
I'm a native English speaker living in a foreign country. The wife is a freelance translator, and I do all her EN checking/proofing. In this way, we offer 'two natives' quality and we manage, month by month, to get by (despite most people wanting 'two natives' quality with 0.5 of a native's cost!).
