Hi,
Can someone just give an indication on the average wage in Germany (gross/year) for a position with a certain level of responsability, like Marketing Manager?

Many thanks,
sandra

How long is a piece of string? Feb 8, 2006

Hi Sandra,
To get meaningful responses, I guess you will need to define more parameters, such as the industry sector, size of the company, scope of the job, etc.

Best regards,
Ralf

I was just about to write:

Q: How long is a piece of string?
A: Depends on its USPs

Far too many factors involved here, Sandra. You need to give an indication of which sector's involved, company size, B2B or B2C, budget and HR responsibility, years of experience, company location, and so on.

I earned what I thought was a decent salary when I was a marketing and sales manager at a mid-sized German company back in the late 1980s, but I don't think it's possible to extrapolate to today's situation. Plus, translation work has always brought me a net income considerably higher than what I was earning as a marketing manager.

Robin
