excuse for payment

Hi,

We are having a strange excuse for not having our payment....

We had worked on a project,for a translation company, who had initally given us an unpaid sample job and approved the quality.

The current job, for which they have denied payment was done by the same translator.

After submitting the job prior the deadline, we never heard from the agency.

2 days after, we issued the invoice,
and immediately, we got a mail say... See more

The current job, for which they have denied payment was done by the same translator.

After submitting the job prior the deadline, we never heard from the agency.

2 days after, we issued the invoice,
and immediately, we got a mail saying the job quality was too bad, and they have rejected the job and cannot accept it.

Since then, we have been asking them to point out the errors, or to give the proofread job.

Now 4 weeks have passed, and today I get a reply from them saying that...

"owing to a tight deadline, we had to submit the job you 'd given us.The client had gone thru this, and has rejected it.So we will no longer need ur cooperation.They had mentioned there were some spell errors, and 2 terminology errors.That is it...

How can a (renowned ) agency submit the job 'like the way it was given' without proofreading when they have told us that the job is unacceptable?
Will anyone wish to let go their client?

Is this an excuse to avoid payment?
Can we proceed requesting the payment to be made, else make a BB entry?

Without having seen the details, I'd say yes, that's what it is.

Can we proceed requesting the payment to be made, else make a BB entry?

From what I can see in your posting, a BB entry will be permitted, as the quality issues (i) were not raised until several weeks later; and (ii) were not substantiated.

Please don't use the BB entry as a threat.
