me too

But the deduction is limited to the actual space my office takes up. Flip side is that I then have that "value" included in the basis for calculation of my "taxe professionnelle" (vive la France) and I have separate insurance for it.

No country - no answer

"My" (or rather my parents') home is in the country where my business is registered and where I spend half of the year for tax purposes. Obviously, I would only be deducting rent in the foreign country (where my source language is spoken) where I rent for 6 months of the year. This is perfectly legal, as far as I know.
From postings like this, you obviously don't want us to know whether your English speaking country is GB, USA, SA, NZ (etc.) nor whether the French-speaking country is FR, BE (etc.). Therefore the question "Which expenses are deductible?" cannot be answered because the answer depends of the laws of the country where you pay tax, and I am surprised that so many have tried to answer. I have heard a rumour that there is search feature for the forums, and that anybody else who decided one fine day to search for deductible expenses might happen upon our words of wisdom and feel enlightened.
Also don't overlook the fact that, unless I'm much mistaken, at least one UK taxpayer is now aware that she is entitled to claim some of her rent as an allowance, so perhaps she has benefitted in some small way, even if the thread starter hasn't.
