Someboy help me here please ┬┐What does \"outsourcer\'s price US $100/ video hour\", in the bidding form of the ABC translations post for a subtitling project means? ┬┐Is it a mistake?

Do you think it's too little or too much? Dec 30, 2001

Considering an hour of video could potentially take several hours to process, it\'s hard to tell if this is a reasonable offer or not, without actually looking at it first.

It is ridiculously low! Dec 31, 2001

I am a Mexico city based translator, (so i`m used to third world tariffs), and basically I only do subtitling. $100 a video hour is only adequate for a bottom of the line translation, like for porn, without the actual video output which would be extra. ┬┐And they even want a written transcript & translation and output in digital video? Either there`s a mistake or they don`t know what are they talking about.

They might as well have asked for world peace while they were at it... Jan 2, 2002

It does seem like these people don\'t have a clue about what the work really entails.

Makes you wonder what those 22 bids are all about.
