http://www.geldtransfair.de/ is a website where you enter which country outside EU you want to send money to from Germany and it will tell you which bank is the cheapest one. There are no such institutions as Western Union, though. At the moment it is rather restricted but there are more countries to be added this year.

I know that normally we'd rather like to *get* money but maybe this could be useful to someone who wants to save on bank charges when paying for ebay etc., instead of using Paypal or the like...
