I got a funny but useful website

All of you can create a search engine (powered by Google) by your name without paying any thing! I made one in my name: http://eglogo.com/Saleh-Chowdhury.html

You can also make your own search engine in just 10 seconds by using your name, your baby's or any other person's name at: http://eglogo.com

After creating your Search Engine, just make it your homepage or add to favorite and you can do all your Google searches from your own Search Engine!

Happy Googling!

Hi Gianni,
Happy to know that you liked it!
You can also surprise your friends by making a search engine in their name and sending them the link. Here is my favorite one: http://eglogo.com/ProZ.com.html

Great tip, Saleh! Thanks for sharing!

How about posting the one you created with the name Proz.com in this other thread that Gianni started?

It's a nice idea, but... May 22, 2008

... I don't understand, because you can actually type a new name in the address bar just before .html and: there you go! We all get the illusion to have created a personal search engine without even reaching its home page, but I suspect it's always the same page, somehow. I don't think it could possibly mean that there's a server collecting all of the folders corresponding to any possible combination of letters. Alright, I don't know much about this sort of things, but it looks like we are instructing the page (only one and the same) to visualise different combinations of letters in that string, according to whatever we've decided to call "our" search engine. Otherwise, when we search for something, the chosen name shouldn't have to disappear from the following page and from its URL. Yet, I have to admit that I still like to see my name slowly appearing in the Google style logo, regardless of how it's achieved.

Search Engine in Your Name - Powered by Google May 22, 2008

Hi Leonardo,

It's a "Search Engine in Your Name - Powered by Google".

In its home page http://eglogo.com it is written that: "Your search will be powered by Google but we are not associated with Google."
All the searches are handled by Google, so you can't see your name and URL in the following pages.

You can modify the logo style in many ways by clicking the "Change Style of Your Logo" link and the modified style will be saved in your computer if you click on the "save modification" button.

The fun is, if you make it your homepage, whenever you open a new browser window it shows your name (or your favorite person or things name) as a nice logo and you can do all your GOOGLE searches from there.

It's completely free of charge, so we can't ask for more!
