The Onion is a hilarious fake newspaper, but sometimes they nail it. There are so many gadgets **coughs CAT tools coughs** out there that are supposed to make our lives "better" and more "convenient", and yet when we finally get around to reading all the 500-page manuals (the 15 of them), a new version is released and we have to learn how to use the whole thing all over again. (I love the last comment on the video.)

Their latest report is exactly about that. Just one disclaimer, the link is not suitable for work and if you are easily offended, stay away.

I warned you: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AyVh1_vWYQ

Great! Feb 11, 2009

Although (and I say this as someone who's not easily offended) it would actually have been better if they'd sworn less.

Did CAT vendors already get your message, Claudia? (cough) ;-) Feb 11, 2009

The best advertising is honest advertising.

The concept of that spot is great; the humour would be even better with a bit more 'linguistic subtlety" and I could also think of other companies that would be better qualified for being 'hauled over the coals'.

But wait! Look what just breezed in here with the E-mail subject line of "Valentine's Day is Almost Here"

Wordfast invites you to see a movie this Valentine's Day. Visit our video learning center to watch our FREE Wordfast Pro training videos.

Thanks guys, I'm sold!

Totally and utterly.

Do I get to take your 'webinar lady' out to dinner? And who pays?

Cheers
Chris
