Does anybody know where I can possibly get some information on the number of licenses sold fo each CAT tool every year, dating back possible to the last 5 years at least?

I see what you mean but I can't think of any other source that could have more reliable data about that subject. A different matter is if these companies would give real data or they are going to "inflate" it and play the "we are the industry's standard" game.

I mean, some associations might know how many of its members own or use CAT tools, but that would only apply to its members.

Select "View project activity statistics", "View reports" - "Monthly".

This shows that 1,368 people have downloaded OmegaT so far this year. Or, if you prefer, one person has downloaded it 1,368 times.
