Bach's Adagio from BWV564 (especially Albert Schweitzer's performance)
Bach's Cantata #208 on organ is one of the profoundest pieces of music I can imagine.

Try to include something from this great (now retired) Greek singer. She sings in several languages as well as her native Greek. You can listen to her final concert on YouTube by entering "Nana Mouskouri Farewell to the Stage".
This is just one song from that concert, which she sings with her great and unique voice, gracing the world with her music. No translation available, maybe someone working with EN/GR can supply it? (Lyrics transliterated into the Roman alphabet). In the recording the second verse (Ti ehi'o ftohos...) is omitted.

Great thread! I'm compiling a list. We're over 600 now--but I have to make a list of just songs, and put it into alphabetical order, then make a separate list for the albums or artists who've been named without mentioning a specific song.
