I saw the movie Mar 21, 2004

A wonderful movie was made from it in 1989.

I'm sure if you google the director, Shohei Imamura, you'll find lots of information about it.

I saw the movie as well, that's the reason why I decided to read the book.
Though the movie is very good, you're right, read the book If you want...it's something different!!!
