This time it's my humble cover of Freddie Mercury's "My Melancholy Blues" from Queen's album "Jazz" (1977).

Hope you like it!

Disagrí. Jun 29, 2005

Sólo pensar en "We are the champions" me pone mal.

Clarisa

Queen and Freddie Mercury Jun 29, 2005

It is sad that people associate Queen exclusively with "We are the champions". Queen did many more wonderful songs, and I encourage you to go listen some of the most obscure pieces.

Freddie loved to "explore" different styles and concepts: you'll find, among Queen's albums, cabaret songs, country songs, pop songs, rock songs, heavy metal songs, dance songs, and some "blues".

Of course it hasn't anything to do with Mahalia Jackson or Aretha Franklin! He had no intention to do that - and the album titled "Jazz" doesn't have anything to do with Jazz as a musical style. As you know, "Jazz" means several things in English.

***

It is also sad that you state that Queen killed rock. I guess you have never had a listen to their entire albums, Juan...

***

Thank you Oso, Clarisa, Pamela, Thierry and Giovanni for caring to listen

Love,
Flavio

Well, I wear a glittery leotard and heavy make up, of course! (Hehe, kidding - I just had a simple t-shirt on.

Love,
Fla
