We are launching a call to help our fellow Romanians hit by the floods which badly affected a vast area of Romania during the last weeks.
The Romanian Government reported so far 20 deaths as a result of the floods that hit Moldavia. 103 towns and villages have been affected all over Romania. The counties of Bacau, Braila, Galati and Vrancea have suffered the most serious damages.
These are the damages in the counties of Bacau, Braila, Galati and Vrancea, according to a Government’s press release dated July 16:
• affected towns and villages - 103
• flooded houses/dwellings - 10,836
• destroyed houses - 509
• damaged houses - 1,819
• evacuees - 12,998
• flooded agricultural land – 85,583 hectares
• destroyed bridges - 122
• destroyed wells - 14.564
• localities without electricity supply – 189
Any contribution is welcome to alleviate the pain of the Romanians affected by the floods.
