I couldn't agree more Benigni himself, though IMHO an excellent actor in some movies, did not always live up to his reputation, eg in his last movie La tigre e la neve (The Tiger and the Snow) - but I was told his performance in Pinocchio, a couple of years ago, was much worse

ps as for actors, Sylvester Stallone wins hands down

...rumors are that Benigni is quite stingy, so casting is wife is more a matter of earning more money for the family budget, I suppose...
