Feb 2, 2003

My heart goes out to the young astronauts who gave their lives today for mankind, for sciences, for our future. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief, families whose loved ones sacrificed themselves today for all of us.

God bless you all.

We Will Remember You! Feb 2, 2003

The Lord is My Sheppard (Psalm 23):

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;

he leads me beside still waters;

He restores my soul.

He leads me in right paths for his name\'s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley,

I fear no evil;

for you are with me; your rod and your staff-- they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,

and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD my whole life long.

God bless their families and friends.

Don't forsake your dreams Feb 2, 2003

When I was young I told my mum

I\'m going to walk on the Moon someday

Armstrong and Aldrin spoke to me

From Houston and Cape Kennedy

And I watched the Eagle landing

On a night when the Moon was full

And as it tugged at the tides, I knew deep inside

I too could feel its pull

I lay in my bed and dreamed I walked

On the Sea of Tranquillity

I knew that someday soon we\'d all sail to the moon

On the high tide of technology

But the dreams have all been taken

And the window seats taken too

And 2001 has almost come and gone

What am I supposed to do?

Now that the space race is over

It\'s been and it\'s gone and I\'ll never get to the moon

Because the space race is over

And I can\'t help but feel we\'ve all grown up too soon

Now my dreams have all been shattered

And my wings are tattered too

And I can still fly but not half as high

As once I wanted to

Now that the space race is over

It\'s been and it\'s gone and I\'ll never get to the moon

Because the space race is over

And I can\'t help but feel we\'ve all grown up too soon

My son and I stand beneath the great night sky

And gaze up in wonder

I tell him the tale of Apollo And he says

\"Why did they ever go?\"

It may look like some empty gesture

To go all that way just to come back

But don\'t offer me a place out in cyberspace

Cos where in the hell\'s that at?

Now that the space race is over

It\'s been and it\'s gone and I\'ll never get out of my room

Because the space race is over

And I can\'t help but feel we\'re all just going nowhere

They are in our prayers Feb 3, 2003

A sad ending of these tremendous earthly efforts.

May they rest in peace and may God watch over their loved ones.

See you. Feb 5, 2003

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth

And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Sunward I\'ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth

Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung

High in the sunlit silence. Hov\'ring there,

I\'ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung

My eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue

I\'ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace

Where never lark, or even eagle flew -

And, while with silent lifting mind I\'ve trod

The high untrespassed sanctity of space,

Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

John Gillespie Magee, Jr.

When I must leave you for a little while

Please do not grieve and shed wild tears

And hug your sorrow to you through the years

But start out bravely with a gallant smile;

Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer

And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near;

And never, never be afraid to die,

For I am waiting for you in the sky!
