I thought it may be of interest for you. Actually is running a petition against making Microsofts 5000 page OOXML an ISO standard:

I have signed it because there is already an ISO standard: Open Document Format, and I don't think that the world needs a second one, initiated by a company with monetary interest.

It is M$ clear business strategy to make every thing so complicated that the open source community, or smaller companies don't have a chance to succeed with developing alternative products. OOXML is another milestone for them. Just my two cents.

The petition is available in 39 languages, including Polish. The Polish gov't and public administration have been too susceptible to the dominance of one company, being generous with spending the taxpayers' money to buy its products, so I signed the petition, too.

What is the difference between glass doors and Office Open XML? There is no difference. Both should look open from afar.

It's internal inconsistency is hair-raising. There is serious doubt whether third party tools would really be able to implement it.

BTW, did you read either/both specifications? If you're an active translator/interpreter I guess you did not have the time.
