Please before accepting job visit the blue board. | | | Olav Rixen Canada Local time: 07:41 English to German + ... List of non-pying agencies? | Mar 25, 2003 |
I\'ve worked for an agency in the past (when I first started out) that told me their payment terms were up to 60 days, then gave me 7 jobs within 3 months or so, but only paid for the first 2. They never paid me another cent to this day. My question is, is there a list on proz.com where you can add any agency which doesn\'t pay, so that other translators won\'t get cheated? | | | Yes, there is | Mar 25, 2003 |
Hi Olav and Sanjay (Thanks Vladimir, I edit my message with updated information)
The Blue Board is the place where ProZ members can rate the clients or agencies they have worked for. Usually 4 or 5 translators are enough to give a good idea of their usual behaviour.

\"Everyone can rate and inquire about agencies.\" \"Non Platinum members can view the Details for an agency for 50 BrowniZ per agency. Platinum members have unlimited access to the Details for all agencies.\"
When an agency that you know for it\'s non payment practices posts a job here you can contact a moderator who will see if the reasons are enough to take off their job offer. You can also do so without waiting until they post another job offer. Some agencies have been baned and can\'t offer jobs because of their behaviour.

We have received letters from The European Union of Associations of Translation Companies (EUATC) suggesting to delete the list of untrustworthy agencies to avoid future problems. Although they failed to mention the law which we are supposedly breaking, still, we are afraid we have to stop publishing the list.
Nevertheless, we continue collecting the untrustworthy agencies and the list will be available ONLY by e-mail ONLY to our subscribers (free of charge). The list will not be published anywhere, also it will not include any words/phrases implying the list includes untrustworthy / unreliable agencies - it will simply be a list of translation companies delivered directly to your mailbox and updated from time to time.
That reminds us that we musn\'t make public accusations in these forums. ▲ Collapse | | | Heinrich Pesch Finland Local time: 17:41 Member (2003) Finnish to German + ... another maillist | Apr 4, 2003 |
